At Risk Populations was the best solution to all faculty concerns around delivering a course in Case Management specific to Canadian students and workers. It has always been difficult to find one text that encompassed all of the aspects of documentation necessary for entry level workers, as well as population-specific information that is useful in Canada. This text was custom-designed to cater to adult learners, focus on the job-specific tasks, and give a true sense of what a case manager’s duties entail. The text focuses on relevant populations that aren’t discussed in many mainstream texts such as human trafficking, HIV/AIDs, and Developmental Disability. The text lends itself to manageable course development, as all chapters are straight forward and contain realistic case study exercises that allow students a hands on experience of documentation and file maintenance. In addition, the text emphasizes Canadian standards of case management, which is not found in other textbooks regarding populations at risk. This is the best case management text I have taught from in ten years of education and development.
